Zhanar Beketova

Zhanar is a passionate language learner and teacher. As an international student and scholar herself, she understands language learners' enthusiasm in expanding horizons and challenges in overcoming challenges of new worlds. Zhanar has track-proven teaching experience in high school with focus on college access and study abroad. Currently, Zhanar teaches German and Italian remotely. In the academic year 2022-23, she taught English Advanced Level at Penn Family Center for Penn family members and offered one-on-one tutoring in Russian for undergraduate students through Penn Language Center. She will continue teaching English at Drexel University in the summer of 2023 and academic year of 2023-24, in addition to developing a Kazakh course for the fall of 2023 for the University of Pennsylvania.

Second language development through learner-centered strategies for students with learning differences; making language classrooms more inclusive and accessible; and increasing students' confidence as legitimate language users
