  • LANG 0100 682 Elementary Albanian I


This is an elementary level course and is intended for students with very little to no background in Albanian. It will mostly be an active learning course which will cover sounds and letters unique to Albanian alphabet, word and sentence structure and some other grammatical categories, which will help students to develop basic speaking, reading and writing skills. During the course students will be introduced to the origin and history of the language, as wells as some social and cultural aspects related to it. As the only surviving member of its branch of the Indo-European language family, Albanian is spoken in Albania, Kosovo, as well as four other neighboring southeastern European Countries and Italy, as well as by diaspora mostly in the Americas and Europe.
