Event
Ed Dixon, Technology Director of Penn Language Center, and Jay Treat, Director of Instructional Computing, SAS Computing, will present the following workshops throughout the month of September in the LRC in Williams 440:
Blackboard: Beyond just course management
The 90 minute and 60 hands-on minute workshops on Bb will focus on two aspects: firstly, participants will learn how to organize and label course content for easy student access. Secondly, instructors will learn how to develop activities with Bb’s assessment and computer-mediated communication tools (Voiceboards, Wikis & Blogs) for developing linguistic accuracy and communicative competence. In addition, presenters will show how to use Bb’s grade book and integrate learning modules based on cultural topics, literary works and film. Get ideas for a project that you can use in your next proposal for an SAS Language Teaching Innovation Grant.
