Beginning Shanghainese is designed for fluent Mandarin speakers who will be working in or traveling to Shanghai in the near future. The course covers the phonology of Shanghainese, then move to dialogue practices and culture and history of Shanghai. The course will allow learners to gain basic Shanghainese communication skills and an understanding of Shanghai's culture comparing with the northern cities of China.
